Izmaylovskaya Gang
The Izmaylovshaya gang is one of the oldest criminal organizations in Moscow, Russia, believed to have been started in the mid-1980s. Various sources indicate its membership to be around 200-500 mobsters. The organization is split into two main groups, the Izmaylovskaya and the Golyanovskaya, of which the former takes the dominant role. The gang uses hierarchy of ranks, similar to the Italian Cosa Nostra. Both groups of the organization are split into subgroups, each under the command of an authority figure known as an avtoritet). The gang also has an obshchak, a fund used by members to bribe law enforcement and authority figures, and also to provide funding for defense should they be arrested. Along with Titan Arms Manufacturing Comapny, the Izmaylovskaya are connected to other ventures which include strip clubs, legal brothels, as well as the illegal sale of premium weapons on the black market. Though nothing can be successfully traced, some believe the Russia government itself is allowing the black market sales to go on for a small cut of the action.
The Ivanov family leads the Izmaylovskaya gang and have since the Gang was founded by Oleg Ivanov. It is hardly a secret within the Mafia that Ivanov and Mikhaylov families don't see eye to eye, and many assassination attempts have been made against one another all of which have been unsuccessful. The Ivanov family enjoy a vast wealth from Titan Weapons Industry, an arms manufacturing company the family founded, that they share with the Izmaylovskaya gang as well as the wealth generated by the gang's other various activities.
The last known direct blood relative of Oleg Ivanov, Nicholi Brejon Conley Ivanov was said to have fled to the United States in order to escape enemies of the Izmaylovskaya gang.
Orekhovskaya Gang
The gang was founded in 1988 and was made up primarily of former young sportsmen and KGB agents between 18 and 25. The gang's leader was Sergei Timofeyev, nicknamed "Sylvester" after Sylvester Stallone for his muscular build. Timofeyev established contacts with other prominent underworld figures such as Ivanov and Mikhailov familes. Though rumors of a gang merger with the Solntsevskaya bratva began to spread, the rumors have since been dismissed by recent gang leaders. The gang also has acquired a reputation of disregarding codes of conduct in the criminal underworld, starting and ending conflicts as they pleased. The Gang has made their fortune from the protection racket, owning several private protection companies and offering bodyguard protection for the rich and famous.
No one family has come out on top when it comes to the leadership of the Orekhovskaya gang. Though any evidence has yet to surface and likely never will, the gang is believed to have current KGB officials working as top official in the Orekhovskaya itself. Leaders have been known for their love of brutal tactics to get their points across and to get the job done. The leadership has been able to keep itself well respected and tolerated by the two most influential families the Ivanov and Mikhaylov.
Dolgoprudnenskaya Gang
The Dolgoprudnenskaya gang was once considered one of the largest and most powerful groups of organized criminals operating in Moscow. Begun in the 1988 the gang quickly rose to prominence within the Dolgoprudniy suburb of Moscow and then quickly spread throughout the city and the country. Dealing mainly in the field of prostitution, the gang made millions. However, soon the competition between itself and the Izmaylovskaya gang who were also at the time leading a booming club and prostitution ring became too much for the Gang and they began to suffer. Though in recent years agreements have been reached between the two gangs that have allowed the Dolgoprudnenskaya gang to begin to grow, they are still seen by the other groups as the weakest of the great five.
The Brokhin family has managed to keep the Dolgoprudnenskaya gang operating amidst the gangs down falls and several assassinations attempts on the family by enemies both within and outside the gang itself. Operating several clubs within the Dolgoprudniy suburb the family secured their place among the top five through several well calculated assassins that they've successfully executed against the other families. Though this has allowed them a small amount of respect as well as a status spot of the great five families, there is still much disrespect for the Brokhin family and the Dolgoprudnenskaya gang.
Tambov Gang
The Tambov Gang is a large Russian mafia gang of Saint Petersburg. According to common allegations, it was organized in St. Petersburg in 1988 by two men from Tambov Oblast, Vladimir Kumarin and Valery Ledovskikh. The gang is named after their region of origin, Tambov Oblast. Despite very common allegations of involvement, Kumarin continues to deny his involvement. Originally the gangsters were recruited from people of Tambov origin although now it is believe they accepting members of different origin as well. The Tambov Gang has made their fortune from the drug trafficking industry. Though other mafia gangs and families are involved in their own drug operations, none operate on the scale nor carry the reputation for success that the Tambov Gang does.
Though originally began by Vladimir Kumarin and Valery Ledovskikh the two families have since married into once another, creating a new Kumarin-Ledovskikh family. Though operating legitimate clubs and bars the family's real wealth comes from the large and expansive drug industry that they operate in Russia and around the world.
