OmniBus Systems will be showing the latest version of iTX, the production and transmission solution, at IBC2009.
New features and capabilities further strengthen OmniBus' product offerings for broadcasters, whether operating in conventional hardware-based environments, transitioning to an IT-based model, or creating entirely new facilities based on the most advanced technology available.
OmniBus iTX is the Company's nexgen, enterprise-class solution. OmniBus will demo the latest version of iTX, offering more than 100 new features designed to further enhance the product's flexibility and power. New features include a range of enhancements for iTX's advanced graphics functionality, including adjustable-speed text crawls, optionally driven from RSS feeds or external text files, and support for full-screen-resolution TARGA sequences. A powerful new audio processing engine delivers multi-stream PCM and AC3 capability, remapping and processing of streams with full 16-channel embedded output, automatic multi-language mapping using language tags, and desktop preview monitoring of multi-channel audio streams. Support is also included for MOS playlists, external HSM archives (DIVArchive, SuitcaseTV), third-party schedule imports and MXF OP1B, as well as regional channels and split breaks. iTX's operational flexibility is further enhanced by new features such as monitoring of commercial minutage against a defined value, VANC data handling, automatic mirroring of a complete parent channel schedule, and increased support for keyboard shortcuts, hard panels and external graphics devices and video servers.
iTX GFX combines the ease of use of iTX with the proven power of the rtSoftware tOG rendering engine to deliver high-quality 2D graphics, sophisticated 3D graphics and real-time DVE effects. Running on an enhanced hardware platform, iTX GFX provides the most compelling real-time graphics effects and delivers full-featured CG capability combined with the ability to handle live video and DVE moves that can be previewed on the iTX desktop. Because the graphics are resolution-independent, the same graphic can play out in SD, HD or on Web streams without having to be recreated.
OmniBus will also show a version of the groundbreaking iTX software automation, master control and playout system specially designed for Internet TV and streaming delivery applications. In use by the industry's largest IPTV provider and powering services to more than a million IPTV subscribers, iTX for Internet Television & Streaming provides all the capabilities needed to produce a highly crafted transmission stream, including video/audio transitions, logo insertions, voice-overs, and two-dimensional DVE moves for squeeze-and-tease effects. The product creates extra revenue opportunities by enabling the insertion of advertising based on schedule time, cue tones, GPIs, SCTE 104 DPI or manual triggering. Format-independent and bit-rate-agnostic, iTX allows broadcasters to mix both media formats and resolutions in the same schedule. Compressed video files such as MPEG2, MPEG4 (H.264), DV25/50 and Windows Media — as well as wrapped formats such as MXF and QuickTime — are all supported in their native form and decoded by iTX during transmission. Broadcast HD, SD and lower bit rates can be mixed within a single schedule and are automatically up- or downconverted by iTX. Live sources can be scheduled, mixed and branded along with recorded content.
