US telco Consolidated Communications, operating in Illinois, Texas and Pennsylvania, signed up a record 1,800 customers for its IPTV service in the third quarter of this year, bringing the total to 21,518 subscribers.
The company added that measures such as pair bonding have expanded its IPTV footprint by 18,000 homes in the period, as well as increasing broadband bandwidth available. Consolidated Communications also reported that access line losses declined in the period to its lowest level since the first quarter of 2008. The company had a total of 119,268 broadband subscribers by the end of last September, up 14% year-on-year.
Revenue across all operations for the third quarter of this year reached US$ 101.6mn, down from US$ 103.8mn one year previously, while net profit rose slightly by the same comparison to reach US$ 18.5mn.
