Russian T-14 Armata vs Israeli Merkava 4, this video takes a detailed look at abilities of both tanks.
In this video we discuss their firepower, mobility, active and passive defense systems etc.

Trophy stops 3000m
long range radars 100km matter so you can identify where your targets are before they identify you and that range can follow the RCS of a sabot round already having projectiles at the ready to fire back.
raytheons "quick kill" its a LOT more expensive but it does the same thing the trophy does without jeopardizing the troops that are using the tanks as cover.
The Merkava is one of the world's most expensive Tanks
the merkeva 4 is only usable in israels type of envirorment and the armour protection (for tank vs tank engagements) is quite poor (when we had a combined arms traning with the israelis tanks...they opened the engine deck or frontal plate and it was really thin...sure the engine gives added protection but its not as tough as armour plates)
* T-14 main gun - 125 mm vs. Merkava - 120 mm;
* T-14 is capable to function in -50 C / + 50 C temperature range; Merkava is designed for above zero Middle East temperature only
* T-14 is built on the modular universal combat platform called "Armata", it's used for a wide set of other military vehicles (including infantry fighting vehicle T-15, BMPT Terminator 3 etc.), which makes it way more universal, cheaper and easier to maintain than classic tanks, I believe this is a key difference between T-14 and Merkava
Its muzzle velocity or penetration is classified and is unknown, just as the Merkava's MG253 cannon.
But Israel Military Industries (IMI) have been requested to develop a 140mm APFSDS shell for the Swiss 140mm L47 gun program for their Leopard.
The resulting penetrator was 1 meter in length, and could penetrate 1,000mm(penetration roughly equals projectile length above certain L/D ratio and m/v) of armor with a velocity of 1,800m/s.
IMI, in parallel to its works on the 120mm MG253, has been cooperating with Switzerland with the purpose of mounting the 140mm gun on the (then in development) Merkava 4 in case NATO decided to adopt a new caliber.
Not many may know but when the designers of Merkava 4 talked about modularity, they were not only speaking about the armor.
Firepower was among the many things they planned to be interchangeable.
And indeed, the turret of the Merkava 4 allows for an easy replacement of the gun. A 140mm gun will fit instead of the 120mm gun, and the bustle has enough room to store the long 140mm shells.

the Ofek is an Israeli heavy Armoured Personnell Carrier, based on converted and obsolete Merkava mk2.
http://www.military-today.com/apc/ofek.htm
Israel is about to make a new 5th generation tank, called the "Ofek"
(Horizon)
It will be a light 35 ton tank, with see trough armor system called the Iron Vision, 2 or 3 different APS
There will be also a new IFV/APC
called Eitan (Strong)
Both will have the same hull and same APS, designed to be easily made and cheaply,
the Eitan will be armed with a 30mm cannon and considering two Spike LR missiles.
the Eitan will be a 8x8 wheeled and the Ofek will be tracked.
Eitan will replace the aging M113 Zeldas, and the Ofek will not replace any tank, it will just strengthen the Israeli army.
the Ofek will not replace the Merkava Mk5, and its armament is unknown yet, although the Carmel project which they are a part of, or FMCV in English (Future Main Combat Vehicle)
they will make a laser or a railgun (But I have no idea if it will be like that)
Although I know that both of these tanks will have new ammunition that are in development at the moment.
Both will use ultra light weight material.
Compare that.

Busting Myths on T-14 Armata
I found out some information after I made the video regarding the previous projects that led up to Armata. In the video I mention Obj 195 and T-74, but there was also another one from the late 70s that resembles Armata a lot. It was Object 477 Molot with a remote turret and was armed with 2A83 smoothbore 152mm gun.
T-14 Armata Main Battle Tank - Good Or Bad Tank?
Sometimes I find some tanks get some misundertsood information and contreovesyr placed on them without the real facts. The Russian T-14 Armata is one tank that I find Russia has gotten right. Yet many people for some reason hate on the main battle tank for such strong reasons. In this video I discuss a few things that make me feel like this tank is a very prominent tank for the modern day armored battlefield.
