Following the switch to its new orbital position at one degree West and creation of a new parent company based in Luxembourg, the service will, according to an announcement by UPC’s Slovak operation, extend the range of Czech and Slovak programmes, add a number of new thematic services and a new package of six HD channels.
All told, the offer will comprise of more than 100 channels, of which 70 will be in the Czech and Slovak language, and there will also be more FTA services offered.
Similar improvements to the service are likely to be announced for the Czech Republic and in Hungary, as well as in Romania, where UPC operates the sister DTH platform UPC Direct.
