Barracuda Nuclear Attack Submarines that are entering service with the French Navy are among world's best Submarines, Submarines are powered by a nuclear reactor and propulsion is based on pump-jet propulsion making submarines more stealthier and quieter. France has ordered 6 submarines with likely to order more after 2025.
Another technical risk with the DCNS proposal is that, unlike the other
two contenders, it doesn't incorporate air-independent propulsion.

isn't offering air-independent propulsion (takes up too much space)
but may eventually offer lithium-ion batteries, a promising technology
but one not yet proven as sufficiently safe for use in submarines. -
