Israel develops the lineup of ultra compact vehicles
At the International Ground Warfare & Logistics conference, Israel's Israeli military development program, code-named Carmel, was unveiled.

Under the Carmel program, the Israeli Army will be equipped with a new ultra lightweight fighting vehicle with many special features.
Speaking at the conference, Brigadier General Didi Ben Joash, the head of the Israeli Defense Ministry's Future Combat Vehicle, announced the release of the Carmel program.
According to D. Ben-Joash, the new Carmel combat vehicle will be a "technological leap" over existing Israeli tanks and combat vehicles.
From the public information, participating in the Carmel program are three of Israeli top defense companies, including IAI, Rafael and Elbit Systems. Each company is in charge of a part of the program. It is expected that the Carmel program will create a multi-purpose armored chassis from which to create various lines of combat vehicles.

While new vehicle information on the Carmel lineup has not been revealed yet, manufacturers say the new vehicle will be lightweight and equipped with high technology. The new media controller will only have 2 members.
Developers are trying to optimize the system to simplify the driver's control process just by pressing the decision button and the rest will be done by the automation system.
The new device can also be fitted with a third-party cabin for the command vehicle version or for complex tasks requiring human intervention.
Car fighters in the Carmel program will use a hybird engine (hybrid between internal combustion engine and electric motor); Full-featured active protection system for optimum combat missions on large battlefield or urban areas.
Mr D. Ben Joash added that new combat vehicles could be equipped with a variety of weapons ranging from machine guns to artillery rocket launchers.
